This temple is covered by mist most of the time and experiences much more cooler weather than the rest of Valparai, due to high-altitude. Poojas are performed regularly, similar to that of Tirupati lord Venkateswara temple. It would be a great experience to sit on the temple’s marble floor, feel 360° of chillness and the silence of nature. A children’s park and a garden are also located adjacent to the temple. It is a must visit place in Valparai.
Aliyar Dam was constructed in 1962 across the Aliyar river. It is located about 65 Km from Coimbatore and it is found on the foothills of Valparai. Aliyar lake receives water from upper aliyar reservoir through hydro-electric power station in Navamali and the Parambikulam reservoir through a contour canal. The dam offers some ideal getaways including a park, garden, aquarium, play area and a mini Theme-Park maintained by Tamil Nadu Fisheries Corporation for visitors enjoyment. The scenery is beautiful, with mountains surrounding three quarters of the reservoir. Boating is also available.
Hydro electric plant situated at Kadamparai between Valparai and Pollachi is worth seeing. It's speciality lies in the fact that it is carved out within a single rock. Special permission must be sought to visit this place and many wild species can be found frequently in this region.
